Pete Discovers "Manscaping"

WARNING:  If you have eaten in the last 24 hours, or plan to eat in the next 24 hours, DO NOT view these pictures!!!!!

Ok, you have been adequately warned.  We decided that Pete should have his nostrils waxed.  Ok, I admit I did it too, but that is not nearly as interesting as Pete doing it, at least from my perspective, the writer of this blog....

Women don't get to appreciate how the hair in a man's nostrils and ears grows wildly, particularly as we age. Given Pete's elevated age and infrequent grooming, his nose was a jungle. We convinced an unsuspecting esthetician who has asked to remain nameless to perform the procedure on Pete.  I guess she figures that any client viewing this waxing will not want to be in the same room in which it occurred.

I wanted to open with this picture and a title "I'm sorry to tell you about Pete", but for some reason Julie did not think it was funny....

He looks so peaceful.
Anyway, Pete is calmly waiting for the waxing to begin.  I have to admit, he is such a good sport.  When I suggested the procedure and recording it for our readership he was all in.  He is mostly willing to share these types of embarrassing moments without hesitation, although he did tell me a funny story the other day about him and Cookie that he asked me not to share.  "Why tell me if I can't share it?!!"  I swore I would not write about it.  Instead I am having a fantastic art student that we know draw it up in a cartoon which I will publish shortly for your viewing pleasure and entertainment.  I am not "writing" about it...

The warm wax is inserted gently into each nostril
The nice thing about the entire procedure was that Pete was unable to speak. I guess he could have but chose not to.  Don't worry, he made up for it while my nose was being waxed.

I included this picture because of the strange hand position.  It was as if he was begging..."please don't hurt me".
Ok, the video you have all been waiting for!

I was hoping he would scream like a little girl (or boy) but alas, just a wince.  For those of you considering nose hair waxing, it is less painful than extracting a single nose hair which often brings tears and expletives.  I'm not sure if Pete will do it again, but he was asking about BSC.  I had no idea what that was so I googled it and turns out it stands for Back, Sack and Crack.  Do not worry, I will not be around for the videoing of that procedure.

More pictures in case you can not get enough...

Purpose of nose hairs...
Hair in the nose is one of the body's first defenses against harmful environmental pathogens such as gets, fungus and spores.  It also provides additional humidity to inhaled air.

What else are Julie and Dave doing...
Julie and Dave head to Vegas, baby, this weekend to celebrate Dave's birthday.  In addition to eating at their favorite restaurants, staying at the favorite hotel, the Encore, we will be going to see Mystere, Cirque Du Soleil, which is French for cool acrobatics to music.

The following weekend we head to Plano, Texas to enjoy the hospitality of our dear friends.  Cooper is spending both weekends at Pete and Cookies.  Pete's favorite saying as it pertains to Cooper is, "It probably won't kill him".  For some reason that does not give me much comfort as we turn over his care to Pete.  Please keep Cooper in your prayers.

All the best,
Dave and Julie
