Wine Pick Up and Various Other News

First of all, do you forgive me?  You know, the repulsive pictures of Pete's nasal waxing.  I don't know what got in to me.  😇  Anyway, I thought it was time for an update on our latest adventures as well as an update on Cooper.  Cooper first, as always.

Cooper is half the man he used to be.  Some (women libs) would actually say he is now a better man. You see, he had his male parts removed.  He had no plans for them so might as well streamline his appearance.  Besides, it will calm him down.  Well, he made it through the surgery with no problems. When we picked him up he was wearing the "CONE OF SHAME".

I was disappointed it did not pick up HBO...
The vet told us not to let him do the following for 2 weeks...
  • No jumping of any kind
  • No running
  • Only light exercise, if any
  • LEAVE THE CONE ON!!!
He also said he probably would not eat for a day or two due to the anesthesia.  Lets see, he came home and wants to potty.  Well, with the cone on, he began sniffing the ground and the cone plowed up the decorative rock we have in the yard.  Off came the cone so he could potty, then immediately back on.  He entered the house and ran to his food bowl.  Again the cone had to come off so he could vacuum the bowl.  Back on with the cone.  He then proceeded to jump on and off the couch in an effort to play.  I had to check his nether regions to see if he actually had any surgery.  Anyway, everything he should not do he did with one exception, he did not lick his wound. The cone only lasted a couple of days and then it came off for good.  Cooper is doing great and is considering becoming a consultant now that he can't actually do the deed.

We did our annual wine pick up.  I did not mention it previously as I did not want the Utah Liquor Control Agency to set up check points at the entrance to the state.  On Friday we visited 3 wineries, Hall, Peju and Cliff Lede to taste.  Julie would not let us eat lunch until we had gone to all the wineries.  Needless to say, everyone but poor Dave were having a very good time.

While we were in California we attended the Hall Cabernet Cook Off.  We attended this event last year and had so much fun we did it again with some additional friends.  If you love great Cabernet and excellent food, it is worth attending.  The tickets are already on sale for next year and sell out fast.  Although I was not the designated driver, I like to maintain some level of sobriety just in case I need it.  Did I mention the wine is an all you can drink and boy did our group ever take advantage of that.  The food plates are small but you can go back as often as you like.

I'm not saying that our crew was inebriated, but...
I believe those pants are finished
Please note that is the risk you take when drink with a blogger who has his phone ready to go.

Finally, we headed home with our load of wine.
Good thing we have a Sequoia

No problem here!
Two last things.  On the way home we cut through Nevada on Highway 375 also know as the Extraterrestrial Highway due to its close proximity to Area 51 and the numerous alien spacecraft spotted in the area. Well, we had something strange happen to us.  Keep in mind there is no phone service for a hundred miles through there.  At one point I checked my watch and the next time I looked at it 40 minutes had passed without me being aware of it.  I told Julie who was driving at the time that I think aliens had abducted us and then returned us to our vehicle without our knowledge. My proof was this unaccounted for 40 minutes, plus my sunglasses were askew, clear evidence I had been moved.  Julie thinks I may have napped.  I still think I am right.

One last thing, we bought a second home in Park City (for you folks from Michigan, that is in Utah).  It is a town house which we plan to use when the temperatures exceed 110 in STG, plus for skiing in the winter.  Here are some pictures.  The roof top patio is my favorite part of the home.  Next are the toilet seats.  Yes, I said toilet seats.  They wash and dry your behind.  How sweet is that?!!!  There are also shops , movie theater, Orange Theory Fitness and restaurants all within walking distance (100 yards).

Other than that, nothing new with us!

Our place is second from the left.

Sadly the hot tub was not included....  but this is our roof top patio!
